MCOATT Award Ceremony Shines Spotlight on Technology-Using Teachers
October 1 , 2004

Kathy Schutzman Speaks at the Technology ConferenceThe 2004 MCOATT Award Ceremony was held October 1st in the Boyd Arthurs Auditorium at Wayne County RESA.

This year, six practicing teachers and twenty-four student teachers achieved the MCOATT Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching with Technology by demonstrating their accomplishments in using technology for student learning.  Awards were based on online portfolios submitted by each applicant.

Award recipients and their families, guests, and faculty from sponsoring COATT member universities enjoyed a light buffet and conversation before entering the auditorium for the formal ceremony.  After an introduction by Mary Waker, COATT President representing Wayne State University, recipients viewed a congratulatory video message from Senator Carl Levin. After receiving their awards, recipients were invited to share remarks about the process of developing their portfolio, what they learned from the experience, or anecdotal stories of their classroom experiences.
